Even though it’s the complete opposite of this Muji lifestyle video that mesmerized me for a full 5 and a half minutes not two days ago, Missoni’s Spring/Summer 2011 promo video is now the master of my visual zeitgeist. I want to splash around in a pool of psyched out prints, drape myself in a zig-zagged caftan and bake under the Amalfi sun.

an interlude on domesticity

Today my stepfather loaded up the dogs and went out to our summerhouse to make sure, as he does about this time each winter, that it hasn’t slipped into the Atlantic. Then, also today, I came across a post on this blog about handmade houses, the second-half of which, with it’s obvious sheetrock and lived-in clutter, reminded me of the very same house and my own 70s hippies’s can-do attitudes. Good job, guys.

[Unfortunately, it seems my only pictures of the place are just stupid dog photos and beach photos, so suffice to say this isn't my house. It's pretty good though. It's from a book called Woodstock Handmade Houses. They're scanned in here.]

I’m so well aware that this is not new or unique content for a blog post in any way, but can we just talk about how rad this collaboration is and how simultaneously confused and excited I am about leather t-shirts??? I hate breathability now.

Also, if I were to get married tomorrow this is what I would wear. OK, I’m kidding. I’m not kidding.

Just stumbled on this really awesome video produced by Topshop on Stylecaster. I think they meant to call it groupie makeup (not roadie, this girl doesn’t look like she could do much heavy lifting), but either way: Nirvana fangirl makeup is a great idea. Three cheers!
